Protected: 5 summer Beach Must Haves

The family and I recently took a trip to out east to Main Beach. It was Rio’s first time at the beach so I made sure to bring all of our essentials as well as serious skin protection for the entire family. Many of us go to the beach and forget the things that we need the most so here is a list of some things I always pack for those fun summer beach trips.

Sunscreen

This is one product that I never forget! Aveeno Baby Continous Protection Face stick, as well as sunscreen, is one of my favorites. I use SPF 50 to make sure Scout gets the coverage she needs. This sunscreen contains Zinc Oxide, a mineral protection which is more of a natural alternative. Unfortunately, Rio is still too small to wear sunscreen as he is less than 6 months old so I have to protect his skin in other ways.

Umbrella

I actually forgot the umbrella when I went to the beach! Luckily there was a stand at the top of the boardwalk that sold them. I immediately purchased one and found a perfect spot to camp out for a few hours. I brought a battery operated fan, food in a cooler and a large beach mat for us to place under the umbrella so we could make it as comfortable as possible.

Toys

Beach Toys are essential when you have kids! If you want to get a small dose of R&R then I highly suggest you purchase a bucket, pale and a ball at least. You want them to be entertained as much as possible!

Beach Bag

I love beach bags! They scream “summer vacation” and they’re so many cute variations nowadays. I usually fill them to the rim with a change of clothes, wipes, diapers, towels and extra bottles filled with tap water to wash sandy hands and toes.
