29 Nov How To Use Flexi Rods
I teamed up with Nexxus New York Salon Care to dish on a routine that I just started using. Every now and then I need a major hair change and will blow dry my hair straight. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long and by the third day my hair is pretty oily. I searched for ways that I could prolong the straight hair look by adding a little Nexxus Dry Shampoo Refreshing Mist to cleanse my hair in between washes.
I picked up a bag of flexi rods to create texture in my hair without the heat of a curling iron. This was a new experience for me but something I would love to perfect and perform monthly in my hair as I loved the outcome! Here are the steps that I took to achieve the loose curl look.
Spray the hair with Nexxus Dry Shampoo Refreshing Mist to refresh your hair if you are in between washes.
Part hair in 4-6 sections and begin each section separately.
Add a small amount of Exxtra Defining Gel to each section as well as a little Mousse+ to only the ends of the hair. These products will help define my curls and protect my hair from humidity. Begin to roll each small section with a flexi rod.
Once you roll each section of the hair, remember to twist the flexi rod on each side so it stays in place.
Once you have rolled each section of your hair with the rods you can either sleep over night with them or use a blow drying bonnet. I decided to use this method for the first time since I’m impatient and wanted to share my results. If you opt for this method than place the dryer on your head for 30-45 minutes or until dry.
Begin to take out each rod one by one. Separate each curl and style however you like. I went with a half up, half down look and finished with Nexxus Comb Thru Finishing Mist to lock in my look.
