Cute and Comfy Airport Style

If you’re anything like me, one of the most difficult looks to master, is the airport ensemble. I find that I’m still searching for the ideal flight-friendly fashion formula. I always want to be comfy of course, but I don’t want to look like a total vagabond. It’s intimidating trying to balance the desire to feel confident with the amount of hours I’ll spend cooped up in that outfit.

My airport style has evolved since I became a mom. I shoot for a mix between casual, cute, and comfy, and the outfit outcome depends on the length of my flight. For the Scout Fam’s recent LA trip, I was looking at about a five and a half hour flight with two little ones in tow.

I decided to go for some straight leg light wash jeans, and a navy and cream striped cotton tee. I live in jeans, and I find that a relaxed fit in a soft material is a great option for flights. Layers are a must since you may hop on one flight that’s blasting the AC like there’s no tomorrow and another that’s a little toasty for your taste. I threw on an army green utility jacket that I could easily slip off in the event of the latter.

Now that I’m a mom, I no longer roll up to JFK in a pair of heels like I’m Posh Spice. A pair of fashion sneaks like this pair from Golden Goose are practical and stylish. Not to mention a godsend in the event of close connecting flights. I also threw a baseball cap in my bag to complete my tomboy chic airport aesthetic.

I decided to dress LS in an adorable cream Les Coyotes De Paris hoodie to keep her cozy in the cabin. She had a graphic tee underneath just in case she got too hot. A soft, black cotton skirt and flat Gucci slingbacks rounded out the comfy look. Don’t worry, I didn’t make her lug that suitcase through the terminal…or maybe I did.

Rio wore a cozy graphic sweat suit and socks to keep his little toes warm. He was so good on the flight, cuddling up to me and catching some zzz’s. Thanks to my airport-friendly look, I was able to catch a wink or two myself.

Thanks for reading up on the Scout Fam’s airport style! Wishing you happy, cozy travels.
