London dropped by for a hip-hop class at Broadway Dance Center’s new studio that’s just for kids.
Growing up I always had a thing for dance but never had the chance to take it professionally. In my late teens, I remember stopping by Broadway Dance Center in Midtown to take a ballet class and I remember thinking that I was probably the worst in the class but I was living my best life.
London dropped in for a hip-hop dance class at Broadway Dance Center’s new studio that’s just for children and teens (located near Lincoln Center). This beautiful studio is aimed to provide young movers the chance to dance their heart out. As you know, London takes ballet twice a week (living vicariously through my daughter), which is super structured so I thought it was time for her to try to “pop, lock and drop it.” I was so thrilled to hear that BDC has a dedicated studio just for kids.
London had an awesome time at her hip-hop class. Her instructor made her feel confident and It was so cute watching all the kids learn the moves together. This experience was the perfect opportunity for her to widen her genre of dance, and what better place to do so than BDC? They provide a variety of classes, all sorts of styles and levels.
I plan on returning to BDC at least twice a month for London, and maybe even turning it into a family day. Morning dance class, brunch with the family then going to the park, doesn’t that sound great? After her class all she wanted to do was show me her moves, she was “happy feet” for the rest of that day. I definitely think you guys should drop in one day with your kiddos. It’d be nice to have a quick break and get your kids moving. There are numerous types of classes for kids so you can be sure to find the perfect fit for them. You can check out their drop-in classes here. Maybe I’ll follow up with a video and have London show you some of her moves, until then thanks for reading!
