Picture this: you’re shopping for several people on your holiday list, and they couldn’t be more different. You want to give them all something meaningful. Not just another gift they’ll toss in a storage closet or slide under the bed, only to unpack it and dust it off exclusively for your visits. You figure you’ll need to make several trips to find the perfect gift to match each of their unique tastes. Then you realize one thing all of your friends with diverse personalities have in common. One taste they all share.
A taste for a cup of good, strong, high-quality coffee.
This year, I partnered with Nespresso to try out several of their sleek coffee machines, and instantly I was hooked. I found a coffee machine to match the personality of three of my distinctly different girlfriends. Just like they all have different tastes in shoes, they have different tastes in coffee.
Nespresso has truly revolutionized single-serve coffee. I used to be a bartender so you’d think I’d be able to get fancy with my morning cup of joe. In reality, though, I’ve always had to pop into a coffee shop on the way to the office for a taste of anything fancier than black coffee with cream. With my Nespresso machine, I’m able to make beautiful cups of coffee, like a skilled Italian barista, with just the click of a button. Every cup comes out with a silky, natural crema, which is a sign of world-class coffee, and totally makes you feel like a starlet. I’m psyched to see the look on my friend’s faces when they open their new machines and try them out this holiday season! Here are my favorite three Nespresso machines to gift. If you ask me, they would each appeal to a different personality type.
For The Artiste:
When I saw this sleek, silver beauty in the Nespresso Madison Boutique, I immediately thought of one of my best friends. She’s a jewelry designer and entrepreneur, with a playful but chic sense of style, just like a pair of strappy pink Louboutins. She loves creating mood boards and finds inspiration in art and architecture. Considering this machine looks a lot like a piece of artwork in itself, I had to grab one for her.
The Creatista Plus combines quality coffee with a convenient, user-friendly technology, and um, hello? A stunning design. You can easily texture milk to the selected temperature and style your own, unique Latte Art creations! My artsy friend can prepare anything from a silky smooth latte to a creamy cappuccino depending on her mood (board).
For The Host:
This bright, and cheery machine instantly reminded me of my cousin. She loves to entertain, inviting the family over for food, drinks, and games, during every major and minor event. She’s sensible and classy, much like a pair of black suede booties. We always end up with full bellies and she always ends up with a messy kitchen. I could picture her serving up both large cups of coffee and espressos, depending on the family member, and bringing them out after dinner during family parties.
One really cool thing about this machine is that it uses Centrifusion and barcode reading technology to recognize the capsule you’re using, which guarantees that each cup is brewed to perfection. Fancy coffee without the fuss? She’s going to looove this machine.
For The Tastemaker:
I have another friend who’s a blogger and she’s always one step ahead of the game. She knows what everyone will be wearing next year before they do. She tries workouts and skincare products I’ve never heard of. She’s a trendsetter to the highest degree, with a futuristic, avant-garde style, just like a pair of metallic silver stilettos.
The VertuoPlus brews both large-cups of coffee and espresso so you can slowly sip or get a quick pick-me-up. The machine opens with a touch of a button and of course, you can choose from any of their coffee or espresso capsules in the Vertuo range based on what you’re craving that day. When I saw this futuristically fashionable coffee machine, I could already picture it in her kitchen. Sold.
Nespresso always has a range of coffee flavor capsules to choose from to customize your cup. Right now, they also have some yummy limited edition variations coffees available for the holiday season! My two favorites were the OriginalLine Variations Confetto Snowball that mixes coconut notes with a dash of vanilla for the Creatista Machine, and the Vertuo Variations Confetto Peppermint Cane. Both perfect to brew right before that nights’ 25 Days of Christmas program.
I snagged a few caffeine-friendly accessories for my friends to complete their gifts. Nespresso is collaborating with artists Craig & Karl to bring their colorful, playful style to everything from the capsules to this festive travel mug. So fun!
Finally, you all know by now that being conscious of the way we treat our bodies and our planet is really important to me. I’m a big fan of companies that also make it a priority. One last thing I want to tell you guys is that Nespresso is committed to having a positive impact on the environment, farmers, and society at large. They package their coffee in aluminum, which can be recycled over and over again (awesome!). Nespresso also works with the Rainforest Alliance to secure the highest quality green coffee and promote sustainable farming practices. It’s a very cool and mindful initiative, and I think we need more companies with this level of social consciousness.
I hope you feel inspired to make the coffee aficionados in your life very happy this holiday! Remember: never settle for crummy coffee, crummy shoes, or crummy friends.
