It can be easy to get stuck in a denim rut in the winter. You wake up late and throw on some jeans, a sweater, booties and you’re out the door. We all know it’s a foolproof formula for cool weather. But of course, you just don’t feel as fabulous during the day when you hit the style snooze button.
For this ootd, I decided to style denim with some trendy boots and feminine pops of color. Enter stage left: the metallic boots I can’t stop wearing (similar here).
When you think about metallic you probably think of middle school nail polish trends or maybe your old Lisa Frank collection. But this season, metallic has been surfacing in the fashion world in every category from booties to clutches to mini skirts to outerwear. I saw this pair of metallic silver booties online, which instantly grabbed my attention. They make a futuristic statement while simultaneously reading like a neutral.
I decided to style them with this pair of straight leg Levis. I love the subtle details on this pair of jeans. The hem is slightly frayed at the and the cut hits at the perfect spot if you’re dying to show off a pair of eye-catching ankle boots. The jeans also have a stripe of darker dye on either side for a vintage cool effect.
I’m really obsessed with this periwinkle blue blouse! I love the frills around the collar and the seventies bell sleeves. Incorporating pastels into your winter wardrobe is refreshing and is one way to steer clear of that fashion rut I mentioned.
Finally, I decided to play up the girly vibe by slinging a blush pink Chanel bag over my shoulder(similar here). This purse adds an instant burst of femininity to any ensemble. I also threw on a pair of mirrored sunglasses for optimum cool(similar). Shout out to my favorite NYC street vendor for hooking me up.
Have a great weekend everyone! Be sure to stay tuned for more style posts and gift guides coming your way next week.
