OOTD: Styling a Shirt Dress for The Office

As you all know, my mornings are hectic at best. There are two little humans that I have to get out the door before I can even think about getting myself ready. Usually, I’m in a bit of rush to get myself to the office, but when I have meetings and events that overlap with my workday, I’ve got to make sure I look chic. Real talk: every now and then the sweatpants do make an office cameo. But the truth is, my mood usually lifts and I‘m able to work more efficiently when I’m feeling my outfit.

In the aftermath of Black Friday sales, I’ve had several new pieces to debut. Getting dressed is always exciting when you get to take the price tag off something. I snagged this black and white shirt dress by the English Factory during the Shopbop sale. I really like the mix of textures: the top is a knit material and the bottom flares out into a crisp white blouse. I definitely feel some English vibes in this dress, like I’m Victoria Beckham stepping out for a lunch break between meetings.

I wanted to go for a color blocking theme so I slipped on some black over the knee boots (similar). I wear these all the time over jeans, but for the office, I wanted to go for a more sophisticated look by pairing them with this shift dress. I threw a leopard print Gucci bag over my shoulder to add a little variety to the look. If you’re styling all neutral colors, you can elevate your get-up with an animal print accessory or a burst of bright red.

That’s all for today’s ootd! It’s okay if sweatpants are your jam every now and then, but dressing up for the office can totally alter your outlook for the day.

Shirtdress + over the knee boots + shoulder bag = recipe for fashion success.

That is so gorgeous! I struggle with how to style OTK boots which is one of the main reasons I haven’t bought a pair. But I see a clearer vision now. Thanks!
