My Favorite Skincare Products

The beauty industry is changing focus. Instead of focusing on coverage, there has been a surge in products that boost your skin’s wellbeing. Along with the Korean beauty craze has come an increased awareness of the importance of skincare. In other words, women all over the world are becoming more proactive about taking care of their skin instead of relying on makeup to do the job. Sure, it’s fun and fierce to master the art of a sultry smokey eye and or a full red lip. However, there is nothing quite so appealing as feeling confident without a drop of foundation. A fresh, clear face is all the rage.

I didn’t pay much attention to the way I was treating my skin until my late twenties. Before then, the pending side effects of age, internal and external stressors, and assorted spring breaks spent baking on the beach, seemed like a distant problem. Intensive skin care was always something I didn’t need to think about quite yet. The truth is, you’re never too young to practice great skincare! And hey, it’s never too late either to start either. Luckily there are a lot of specialized and effective products on the market that make skincare easier to prioritize.

You know how you can always tell which products a person uses the most based on what the bottle looks like? Well, let me just say that the following products have worn labels that you can barely make out anymore because I use them nonstop. I wanted to share the products that I’ve found to be fantastic for keeping skin vibrant, youthful, clear, and fresh.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence: This essence is ah-mazing. It helps decrease the appearance of wrinkles and dark spots while also increasing the firmness of your skin. It’s more expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil: I put this oil on before bed. It has chia seed oil, blue tansy, and German chamomile, which work to soothe & smooth skin while also soothing you before you hit the hay.

Sunday Riley Good Genes: Skin-plumping, heaven sent treatment for fine lines and dullness. I use this before applying the sleeping oil above. It’s also paraben and sulfate free!

Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Cream: This is a great daily moisturizer that helps improve skin elasticity. It uses natural ingredients such as bamboo sap, ginger root extract, and the 9 essential amino acids to boost overall skin health.

Biossance Squalane OilYou can use this on your body and hair as well as your face! The oil feels weightless going on, and leaves my skin hydrated while reducing irritation. This one is made from renewable sugarcane.

Edible Beauty Snowflower Illuminating Face Oil: This is product uses antioxidants and Australian based botanicals to plump up the skin and increase radiance. Emu Apple Seed Oil and Vitamin C from Snowflower Seed Oil = two ingredients I never knew I should put on my face, but hey, I’m glad I did.

Crème de la Mer: This little jar is mightier than it looks. Known for their “Miracle Broth” formula, La Mer has been taking the skincare industry by storm. This cream has an antioxidant lime tea to protect against stress and pollutants. Two issues I need help fighting in this city and in my life in general. I use this to help minimize pores and fight dryness and dullness.

Kate Sommerville Retinol Firming Eye Cream: Retinol and wrinkles do not get along, which makes retinol is your new best friend. This ingredient greatly reduces wrinkles and lines while improving the elasticity around your eyes. Plus it slides on silky smooth. This is an easy product to travel with as well!

Saturday Skin Brightening Eye Cream: Our eyes have the thinnest skin of all so it’s important to take extra good care of the sensitive area! This cream is firming and lifting so that you look more up and at ‘em instead of like a tired zombie. (And if you’re a mom too, we both know which of these is actually true).

Dior Capture Youth Glow Booster: This is an illuminating serum that leaves skin looking extra bright and smooth thanks to a hefty concentration of Vitamin C. It helps boost your skin’s’ immunity to stress, fatigue, and jet lag. I always keep a bottle on my beauty counter.

Whether you’re 16 or 60, devoting some TLC to your skin is always in fashion. I hope you guys enjoyed reading about my favorite products. If you know of any other skincare winners, be sure to let me know in the comments! I’m always interested in trying new products.
