Smoothie Recipes Everyone Will Love

My mornings are typically hectic seeing that I’m running after two kids while juggling my own routine. Breakfast for myself is usually the last thing I think about but the first task I tackle for the kids when I wake. London is an extremely picky eater and will decline almost anything I make. I would often stress about her lack of vitamins and protein intake until I created the ultimate smoothie packed with hemp powder which provides protein and omega-3s. I also make enough for myself and add it to my to-go mug before rushing out the door in the am.

Once a month I stock up on all of my household needs when I shop at Walmart. To my surprise, I found their healthy living products and stocked up on my favorites such as the Manitoba Harvest Hemp Pro 50 Protein Powder and Native ground chia seeds. I also add the chia seeds to a lot of Rio’s baby foods which are easily digested and loaded with nutrients.

 

Smoothie must-have’s

RECIPE

I wanted to share with you this great recipe that is great for vegans, vegetarians or anyone that would like to jump-start their mornings. I promise, even the kids will love it.

  • 2 cups hulled strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 frozen banana, broken into pieces
  • ½ cup of coconut/cashew milk (any milk of your choice is fine)
  • 3 tablespoons hemp seeds (use less if you do not like the taste)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of Nutiva Ground Chia Seeds

Place all ingredients in an upright blender and blend until completely smooth.

*You can also add 1-2 dates to your smoothie to make it sweeter.
