Playground Chic

Image-1-2I like to describe London’s style as “Playground Chic”. Chic enough to stroll through the city, but perfectly fit for the playground. I will admit that I went a little overboard with this look. Who actually dresses their kids in a floor length tutu and leather jacket to run around the park? In theory it sounds ideal to the fashion obsessed mom such as myself, but in real life it’s not a good idea:/

Nevertheless, this was the perfect outfit to shoot on the playground for 15 minutes. As you can see, she can play in any outfit I put on her! I’m sure she would attempt to rock climb in my Louboutins, if I allowed her to touch my shoes – but that is a big NO, NO. I searched high and low for a floor length tutu that would fit LS but no such luck. I decided to grab some tulle and ribbon from the fabric store and do a little DIY. When it comes to DIY projects, I start out with good intentions but somewhere along the line my A.D.D. kicks into overdrive and I dump the project before finishing. Surprisingly, I tackled this “no-sew” tulle skirt successfully (patting myself on the back). I have to show you guys how I made it, superrrrrrr easy! I paired it with our favorite faux leather jacket from Petit Lem, a cute pair of combat boots and the cutest polka dot tank from our friends over in Spain, L’enfant Sauvage. Hope you guys enjoy this look as much as I do! Please feel free to drop us a comment and thanks for stopping by!
