One of the things I love most about NYC is just when you think you know everything about it, you stumble on a new street or restaurant that you never knew existed and suddenly the city feels brand new all over again.
I remember when I used to go to the Garment District to browse the shops with endless fabric, buttons, and trims. It was the place where all of fashion was happening and you could feel it in the air.
Now, there are so many other reasons to visit the Garment District. Come with me as I show you what a day in the Garment District looks like with me!
The Garment district is a quick walk from either Bryant Park or Herald Square so hop off the train and make your first stop a coffee from Culture Espresso. They make an amazing latte and have several pastry options to chose from.
Do a little shopping while you’re here. I stopped into Qüero Shoes – a popup shop next to the Refinery Hotel selling handmade and custom shoes made in Spain. The staff there is so friendly and helpful and made shopping such a pleasure.
Sometimes the daily grind of the city can wear on you. I’ve been working on taking time to slow down and meditate, especially as a mom to two. The Shinnyo Center is the perfect oasis amongst the chaos. Stop in for their “Matcha Meditation” that focuses on the tea ceremony with a guided meditation.
End your day with a drink with a view of the Empire State Building at the Spyglass Rooftop. You’re instantly reminded of the magic and energy of the city.
With a million ways to get lost and inspired, how will you explore the Garment District?
