Let’s face it there are too many bottles of perfume to choose from and not enough with real quality ingredients. I am a huge fan of fragrances and think that there’s nothing sexier than a woman’s scent. If she chooses the right one it will tell a story about who she is before saying a word. A fragrance is mesmerizing, shocking and memorable all at the same. It tells a story while showcasing your personality. I believe every woman should have a signature scent and not share it with her best friend because it’s your personal identity.
Did you know the olfactory bulb is where smells are first processed by your body and then directed to your brain which strongly implicate motion and memory? Information for your visual, auditory, and tactile systems do not pass through those brain areas at all, which is why smell is so strongly linked to your emotions and memories. Nothing can change my mood more than a great smell. Which is why I thought I’d share my favorite scents with you and how I use them in my day-to-day life.
If I’m just going about my usual routine, I normally find myself drawn to the Bond No. 9 fragrances. Initially I was drawn to the cute idea of how they are New York centric and each scent is unique as their neighborhood where it gets it’s namesake. There’s one for every personality so finding that “go to” staple is really easy with this line.
When I’m looking for something extra sultry or rich, I always reach for my Le Labo perfumes. Just the other day I was in their store in SoHo and love that you can walk in and get a customized label as each perfume is handcrafted for the individual.
If this is a little out of your price range, try reaching for a scent with deeper notes for a sexier scent like cedar wood, vetiver, or musk. I highly recommend investing in your perfume. You want quality with the finest ingredients and Le Labo is worth every penny. It’s signature scents will lift your mood and leave you feeling so sexy.
Holidays + Family Time
Around the holidays or when I’m just relaxing with my family I’m drawn towards scents that have notes of yuzu, lotus flower, ylang-ylang, and other easy, bright fragrances that don’t overpower the setting.
Beat The Heat
With the summer heat in full effect, I love finding scents that remind me of days spent at the beach and imaging I’m on a remote island somewhere because, who doesn’t want to pretend they’re on vacation 24/7? Look for perfumes that have jasmine, citrus, coconut, and vanilla. I personally love Bobbi Brown’s Beach and Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc.
